Functional capacity assessments
Functional capacity assessments involve reviewing an individual’s current level of function to participate in activities of daily living. The aim of this assessment is to outline current capacity and to determine recommendations for funding, support, and or assistive technology to assist with building capacity and/or maintaining current level of function.
Administration of a functional capacity assessment can include various components to ensure the evaluation and final report is accurate, thorough, and tailored to the client. This can include a review of previous information/reports, consultation with individuals and carers on lived experience, functional limitations and how this may change depending on the intensity of symptoms, observation completing tasks, and administration, scoring and interpretation of relevant assessments. A comprehensive report is completed following the assessment.
